Description
Pythagoras of Samos( c. 570 c. 495 BC) was an Ionian Greek philosopher, mathematician, and the putative founder of the movement called Pythagoreanism. He is often revered as a great mathematician and scientist and is best known for the Pythagorean theorem which bears his name.
“Tradition says Pythagoras, during water supply works in Samos around 530 BC moderated the workers’ wine drinking by inventing the ‘fair cup’. When the wine surpasses the line, the cup totally empties, so the greedy one is punished.”
